Financial Aid

Whether you are a first-year or a transfer student, a U.S. citizen or an un/DACAmented student, knowing what your financial aid and out-of-pocket costs are will help you make informed decisions about your college journey. Latinx Student Services (LSS) provides you with assistance and referrals to address your financial aid questions.

When you are admitted into the University, your admission letter lists scholarships and grants that have been awarded to you by Augsburg based on:

  • Financial Need
  • Academic Achievement
  • Participation in a college prep program (TRIO, AVID, College Possible)
  • Timing of your application

However, there are other sources of funding available to assist you in meeting the cost of college such as 1) federal and 2) state financial aid as well as 3) additional scholarships.

FEDERAL FINANCIAL AID

Available to U.S. citizens, residents and eligible non-citizens only, federal financial aid includes grants and loans such as:

  • Pell Grant
  • Direct Un/Subsidized Loan
  • Federal Perkins Loan

STATE FINANCIAL AID

Available to U.S. citizens, residents, eligible non-citizens and un/DACAmented students students who qualify for MN DREAM Act or meet the state residency law as follows:

  • MN State Grantfor U.S. citizens, residents, eligible non-citizens, and un/DACAmented students who meet MN DREAM Act or state residency law
  • MN State Work Studyfor U.S. citizens, residents, eligible non-citizens and DACA students with employment authorization and Social Security number
  • SELF Loan

HOW TO APPLY FOR FEDERAL AND STATE AID?

U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens apply for financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Financial aid (FAFSA) online and any additional forms required by Augsburg.

Un/DACAmented students eligible for the MN DREAM Act or who meet at least one of the criteria of the state residency law can complete the online MN DREAM Act State Financial Aid Application available HERE.
